The Synergy of Innovative Technologies and Carbon Market Developments in Achieving Net Zero Carbon in the GCC Region
The Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC) is a voluntary initiative, hosted by the World Bank, that catalyzes action towards the successful implementation of carbon pricing around the world. The CPLC brings together leaders from government, business, civil society and academia to support carbon pricing, share experiences and enhance the global, regional, national and sub-national understanding of carbon pricing implementation.
Over the last two Years, the CPLC has collaborated with a group of stakeholders of the region, including Dubai Carbon Center of Excellence (DCCE), EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, Clean Energy Business Council and ENGIE in organizing seminars, working groups and debates around the various issues and perspectives of Carbon pricing and carbon Market in the region,
After a high level lunch debate at last Year ADSW in the framework of the Atlantic Council Energy Forum, they invite all concerned stakeholders to a virtual workshop on “The synergy of Innovative technologies and Carbon Market developments in achieving Net Zero carbon in the GCC region”

Launch: UAE Climate Change Research Network
The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) is launching the UAE Climate Change Research Network which will bring together a group of committed climate scientists and researchers to facilitate dissemination of knowledge and advance development of research collaborations. Network members will be drawn from government, universities and other research entities in the UAE

Webinar: UAE’s Climate Change and Sustainability policies – contributions of the Dutch private sector
During ADSW and marking the one-year anniversary of the Dutch Sustainability Group (DSG), the Embassy and Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the UAE in collaboration with the Benelux Business Council in Abu Dhabi and the Netherlands Business Council UAE held a thought leadership event discussing the contributions the Dutch private sector could make to the climate change and sustainability policies of the UAE.
HE Fahed Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Green Development and Climate Change Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) delivered a keynote speech followed by a panel discussion including: Stefanie Schachtschabel (Initiator Dutch Sustainability Group and Chair of Netherlands Business Council UAE), Priya Sarma (Senior Sustainability Manager at Unilever), Rachel Terry (Team Leader Climate Adaption at Van Oord) and Ajay Narain (Managing Director at LeasePlan Emirates).
