The WiSER Annual Forum is the flagship event of Masdar’s Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) program, which launched in 2015 on the sidelines of the 70th United Nations (UN) General Assembly. It aims to empower women and girls to play a more active, co-equal role in the global energy systems transformation, in support of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Under the theme of “Igniting the Climate Economy,” the 2025 forum will include five in-person roundtables featuring key figures in sustainability from around the world with the goal of unlocking opportunities for current and future generations of female sustainability leaders.
The Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) platform was officially launched on the sidelines of the 70th United Nations General Assembly in September 2015. One of Masdar’s outreach platforms, WiSER is dedicated to inspiring women to play an active role in addressing global sustainability challenges.
The year-round platform is founded on three core pillars: education, engagement and empowerment. WiSER convenes decision makers, experts, thought leaders and youth role models from across the sustainability sector to promote new ideas, viable solutions and lasting collaboration to empower present and future generations of female sustainability leaders.
