Abu Dhabi is leading the transformation toward a sustainable, low-carbon future through bold policies and strategic partnerships aligned with the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.

In this episode of ADSW Talks, H.E. Ahmed Al Falasi, Executive Director of the Energy Efficiency Sector at the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DOE), outlines how the department is reshaping the emirate’s energy landscape through key initiatives like the Clean Energy Strategic Target, which aims for 60% of the emirate’s electricity to come from clean sources by 2035.

Complementing this, the Abu Dhabi Energy and Water Efficiency Strategy 2030 seeks to reduce electricity use by 22% and water use by 32% compared to a business-as-usual scenario.
As a Principal Partner of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), the DoE has long championed collaboration between governments, investors, and innovators to accelerate clean energy deployment. H.E. Al Falasi emphasizes that platforms like ADSW are vital for turning ambition into action, bringing leaders together across energy, water, and climate to drive integrated, system-wide solutions.

Looking ahead to ADSW 2026, the DoE aims to see tangible outcomes in the form of new partnerships, practical innovations, and lasting commitments that strengthen energy security while building long-term resilience.

“Sustainability is a continuous journey,” H.E. Al Falasi notes. “Through shared responsibility, innovation, and partnerships, we can create lasting value for future generations.”

Register to join Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 and be part of the conversation with global leaders, innovators, and policymakers who are driving system-wide transformation to shape the future of sustainability.
